Getting notified of new posts

There is the possibility to get notified when another user posts a new thread/topic in a forum.

In any forum, look at the absolute bottom right. You will see several symbols/icons:

The left-most will be a check-mark in a box. This is what you click to subscribe to a particular forum and get emails when somebody posts.

When you are subscribed to a particular forum, an empty box will be shown.

(It's kind of counter-intuitive, but apparently the authors of the board software wanted to imply that you "check the box" to subscribe and "uncheck the box" to unsubscribe, so they're describing an action. It's just that you end up seeing the opposite of your current subscription status which makes it confusing, at least to me.)
